Twin Cities' Fundraising Walk for Angelman Syndrome This Saturday

Hundreds of walkers are expected (and you're invited too!) to join the Twin Cities 'fundraising walk for Angelman Syndrome. Other walks are being held across the country.

Body Found on St. Croix River Beach in Lakeland

Two friends found a body Tuesday on the shore of the St. Croix River in Lakeland.

Wheeler Morris and his friend Billy Mork, both age 19, spotted the body at about 11:30 a.m. while cleaning a beach area, behind a house belonging to Morris' father.

Stillwater Lift Bridge Construction May Delay Boaters

Boaters along the St. Croix River might be delayed next Tuesday as crews work to complete the replacement of a gearbox inside the Stillwater Lift Bridge.

According to MnDOT, the lift span will remain in the down position between 8 a.m. and noon on May 21.

After a cold and wet spring, Minnesota farmers finally have made significant progress in planting.
    
According to the weekly crops and weather report for Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says there were 3.6 days rated suitable for fieldwork last week. That compares with only 1.3 days the week before.

Last summer, Lumberjack Days faded away and now Stillwater officials are working behind the scenes to bring it back. 

Promoter David Eckberg was charged with felony theft and Lumberjack Days died in 2012.
